OUR HISTORY 

 

The idea to form Cape Medical Billing Corp. (CMB) was conceived nearly a decade ago by Sarah Holt, PhD, FACMPE, author of Get the Money in the Door: Physician Billing Basics and Medical Office Billing: A Self-Study Training Manual.  

 

As administrator of a thriving general surgery practice, consultant to other medical practices and national speaker on medical practice management topics, Holt witnessed how many physician groups struggle to achieve financial goals, not because of a lack of talented, dedicated physicians, but due to a lack of sound billing processes and procedures and qualified billing staff to ensure optimal reimbursement is received in a timely manner. 

 

In the course of completing her doctoral research, which focused on identifying the key characteristics of top performing medical billing staff across the nation,  

Holt realized she could offer the knowledge, tools and medical billing expertise she helped cultivate in her own organization to other medical groups in need of this service.  Thus, Cape Medical Billing Corp. was founded in 2007.
